Interests
In addition to my academic interests, I have a deep passion for all things transit and transportation, most notably planes, trains, metro systems, and ships. I have always loved flying, and now in the midwest have expanded into Amtrak travel as well. I am a lifelong swimmer and am quick to take a group open water swimming. I also am fascinated by large infrastructure projects, most notably dams and hydroelectric systems, and will often make detours on road trips to visit them.
My favorite books outside of political science are Between Two Kingdoms: A Memoir of Life Interrupted by Suleika Jaouad, Why Fish Don’t Exist by Lulu Miller, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, and The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. Like any good graduate student, I frequently listen to Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan, Bon Iver, and Hozier, and watch The Sopranos, Better Call Saul, Veep, Parks and Recreation, and Aerial America.
Juniper
I have a four-year-old rescue cat who graciously allows me to share her apartment. Her name is Juniper, after the beautifully rugged western tree, the street in midtown Atlanta, and the month of June. She loves sleeping, napping, resting, and walking across my keyboard before I can recompile in Overleaf.

Personal Writing
When I have both time and inspiration, I often turn to creative writing. You can find me on Medium.
Strava
When the proofs aren’t proof-ing, I usually head for a run through the city. You can find me on Strava. (Judge my distance, not my pace)
